I always get a kick out of those ads for random “state of the art” inventions that are so obviously useless. They show people getting frustrated because they can’t perform a simple task without disaster, painting the average human as an uncoordinated buffoon who desperately needs the help of the brand-new patent-pending thingamabob that is being sold for 12 easy payments of $29.95 (but wait, there’s more). Bad acting, horrendous graphics (starburst, anyone?), and obviously manipulative editing make these the poster children for least believable (but somehow effective) advertising. Cracked.com has a list of ten of the worst of these offenders. The Tiddy Bear has to be the silliest of all the products – it reminds me of a sketch from a late-night comedy show.
